Retro Fabric Floor Lamp
Retro Fabric Floor LampA wood floor lamp with an adjustable boom arm that swings out from a dark wood column on an oval base. The cream fabric dome—pleated and slightly oversized—sits at the end of a brass rod, angling down to throw warm light onto a chair or reading spot. The whole thing has that mid-century feel without trying too hard: solid wood, honest joinery, materials you can see and touch. It's built to actually move around and find the light where you need it. Documentation SpecificationsInstallation Guide3D Files Common Questions How stable is the base, and will it tip if I pull the arm out?The oval wood base is solid and weighted—about 45 × 28 cm (18″ × 11″)—so it holds steady even with the boom extended. The arm counterbalances well. Still, place it on level flooring and keep it away from high-traffic zones where someone might brush it hard. Can I adjust the height of the shade, or does the arm only swing? The arm swings and rotates at the top, and the shade itself can tilt up or down on its ball joint at the end of the brass rod. You've got good range to angle the light exactly where you want it—over a shoulder for reading, or down at a table. What's the reach of the boom arm when it's fully extended? The arm extends roughly 60–70 cm (24–28″) from the column, so you can position the shade 2–3 feet out from the lamp base. That's plenty to throw light onto a sofa or armchair without the base being in the way. Is the fabric shade easy to clean, and can I replace it?The pleated cream fabric can be dusted gently with a soft brush or cloth. If it gets stained, spot-clean with a barely damp cloth. The shade attaches to the brass dome fitting, so replacement shades can be sourced—bring measurements and photos if you need a swap down the road. Does the wood need any special care or finishing? The dark wood column and base are sealed and finished. Wipe them occasionally with a dry or slightly damp cloth to keep dust off. Avoid harsh cleaners or prolonged moisture. The wood will age naturally over time, which is part of its character.
