Kova Floor Lamp

The Kova Floor Lamp is a stacked-wood column with a clean geometry — light oak segments separated by dark metal bands, sitting on a black metal base. A cream linen shade tops it off. The wood is warm and substantial enough to read as furniture, not just a stick with light attached. It fits the corner of a living room or the angle next to a reading chair without demanding attention, but it lands somewhere quieter than minimal.

Common Questions
How tall is this lamp and will it fit my space?
The Kova stands 62″ from floor to the top of the shade. That’s tall enough to clear a sofa back and cast light over a reading chair. Measure the wall or corner where you’re thinking of putting it — you want at least 64″ of clear ceiling height, and a couple feet of floor space on each side so it doesn’t crowd the room.
Does the shade come with the lamp?
Yes. The cream linen shade is included. It’s 14″ across the top, so the light pools down warm and doesn’t glare if you’re sitting nearby. If you want to swap it for a different shade later, the lamp takes a standard fitting — see the Specifications for exact bulb details.
What’s the base made of, and how stable is it?
The base is steel, powder-coated black, and it’s wide enough — about 13″ square — that the lamp won’t tip if you bump it. The stacked oak segments rest in a solid frame. In a household with pets or kids, you’re not going to have problems.
Is this lamp easy to assemble?
The wooden segments and metal frame come stacked and banded for shipping. You’ll set the assembly on the base, then place the shade and wire it up. Most people handle it in 20 minutes with a helper. Full instructions come with it.
How do I clean the wood, and will it show dust?
Light oak is forgiving — dust doesn’t show as much as on dark wood. A soft dry cloth every couple weeks is enough. If it gets sticky, dampen the cloth slightly and wipe along the grain. Avoid cleaners with oil or wax; the wood doesn’t need them and they build up over time.
